The Great Homes program is a pilot initiative in Sugar Land, TX that aims to encourage homeowners to invest in their neighborhoods by preserving and enhancing their homes. The program has two components: the Great Homes Design program and the Great Homes Update program.
The Great Homes Design program offers residents a $500 rebate for homeowners who make at least one qualifying exterior improvement on their home within six months of receiving a design through the program. The program has a budget of $120,000 from the city’s general fund, which will go towards funding 250 home designs and a potential 40 home projects.
The Great Homes Update program is a reimbursement incentive for homeowners who make rehabilitation and refurbishments of the exterior of their single-family houses. Homeowners may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $10,000 for a portion of their exterior home improvement costs. The program has a budget of $500,000 from the city’s general fund, which will helbestp fund approximately $2 million to $5 million in residential improvements.
The program is a one-year pilot initiative that will be re-evaluated in 2024. The city hopes that the program will encourage residents to invest in their communities and improve the overall appearance of neighborhoods. Learn more here!
